Virtual Solo Show by Greg Stirling

We are delighted to present to you the wonderful artwork by the innovative artist Greg Stirling.

Greg Stirling lives and creates in San Jose, California. His work has been featured in numerous art auctions. He is a member of the Guild of Motoring Artists. He started painting in 1980. After going through three decades of self-guided exploration in abstract expressionism, the art of the 20th century, and post-war impressionism, he arrived at the door of realism. To continue his area of study, Greg experimented with new techniques, media as well as innovative processes and concepts. Mr. Stirling is also a design engineer, kinetic metal sculptor, and automotive enthusiast.

"I grew up in a suburb of Chicago and now live in San Jose, CA. My father was a master machinist, draftsman, and photographer. I enjoyed drawing and illustrating, mostly cars, airplanes, and steam locomotives. I studied mechanical engineering and worked as a draftsman and technical illustrator for Kaiser Electronics, Westinghouse, and General Dynamics before becoming a design engineer. In 1980 I started painting, mostly abstract, post-war, art of the 20th century. In 1999 I started doing digital photography and photo retouching. During that time, I accumulated a large library of photos. I decided to combine painting and digital art, and experimented with new techniques, and media as well as innovative processes and concepts. From there I developed my own process which involves digital photo art collage using my large library of images accumulated as a digital photographer, along with a self-made filter that converts images into illustrations, my own digital hand-painting process, and wet hand-painted passages which are scanned and then added to the image. I use Photoshop 7 on Windows XP Pro and as many as 20 layers to produce a single image. My final product is a digital image.

For this show, I wanted to represent a range of current styles that I find appealing, interesting, or socially relevant. These are all samples from larger collections. The art pieces are being offered as Giclee’s prints on canvas that are stretched, gallery-wrapped, and ready to hang. They are shipped directly from the print shop to you in about 10 days. I do hope that you add a frame and support your local frame shop. Smaller sizes and media, as well as hand-embellished artwork, and digital files, are available by request. For the printing, I use Canvas Champ and have sold over 40 large giclee’ prints on canvas from them in 2023 with amazing results and good reviews. You are free, however, to use the print shop and media of your choice. There is a money-back guarantee, and a portion of the proceeds from these sales are donated to charity.

I wanted to thank HMVC Gallery New York for their kindness and generosity in offering me this solo show - and all their hard work that went into its creation. It is very much appreciated!!"

Stirling's Virtual Show runs from December 06 to January 04, 2024. For more visit:

January Online Group Show "Unveiling The Layers"!

For our first group show of 2024, we’ve chosen to explore the intriguing notion of ‘layers’ as the focal point and how they can be interpreted and showcased through different art forms.

Throughout art history, layers have been more than just a visual element; they embody depth, complexity, and hidden narratives waiting to be uncovered. Whether it be a physical layer (different textures or materials), an emotional layer (depicting different emotional states or experiences), a cultural or historical layer (exploring different traditions, narratives, or customs), or even a societal layer (examining different ideologies, social constructs, or political systems). “Unveiling the Layers” is a show where artists can peel back the layers and showcase the depth and complexity within their artworks.

We welcome artworks from all mediums of visual art, except AI-created art, and video/film.

★ Digital entries must be received by December 28th, 2023 before 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time.

★ Notification of acceptance will be sent by email by December 31st.

★ The show will premiere on January 1st and end on January 31st.

Elevate Your Artist Bio & Statement With

HMVC’s Gold Standard

We are very happy to announce that we have implemented a new service called "Artist's Writing Aid."

We are well aware of how artists struggle with writing Artist Bios and Statements because we review them every month. Many artists do not realize that their Artist Bio and Statement are a gateway to the art world and unfortunately many end up missing out on good opportunities because of poor writing.

So why not let us help you tell your story in a way that resonates, captivates, and elevates your artistic identity.

With our "Artist's Writing Aid", we provide you with a white glove mentor service by:

★ Uncover Your Unique Voice: We’ll conduct interviews and research to understand your artistic journey, inspirations, and aspirations.

★ Craft a Compelling Narrative: We will transform your experiences and thoughts into engaging narratives that captivate your audience.

★ Tailor for Your Audience: We consider your target audience—whether it’s galleries, collectors, or the general public—ensuring your artist bio and statement resonate with them.

★ Edit and Refine: We provide multiple rounds of revisions to ensure your bio and statement are perfect in every way.

Together, we’ll take your artistry to new heights!

HMVC Gallery New York is now offering you the opportunity to have your own solo show on our ArtPlacer virtual platform for a month. Because the artists in our community are at various stages in their careers, we have created three different plans for you to choose from Plan Manor, Plan Palace, and Plan Castle.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in doing a Solo Show with us.

Visit our ongoing Virtual Solo Shows.

This service is by request only so if you would like to know more you can contact us via the contact form or email us at [email protected]

Kind Regards,
