Solo Show by Karen Safer!

We are happy to announce that Karen Safer our Solo Show winner from "Moments" group show premiers her show today and the show runs from July 1 to 31st, 2024.

You can view the show on our Website.

Karen Safer was given a camera and crayons at 3 and exposed to/inspired by California motifs: light, trees, the ocean, music, and vernacular architecture that defined/influenced her left-handed aesthetic. A Los Angeles native, born to creative, scholarly-minded parents who encouraged her world travel (230+ countries/territories visited). She was given a camera and crayons at 3 and exposed to/inspired by California motifs: light, trees, the ocean, music, and vernacular architecture that defined/influenced her left-handed aesthetic. She began taking pictures of family and friends, progressing from painting to developing black-and-white photos in college. She was fortunate to begin a life of travel as a teen that shaped her love of the exotic paired with an eye for the formal, accidental, and unusual while subliminally seeking the “beautiful” that jiggles the lens/frame of my eye.

"I am a student of art, architecture, history, literature, film, and music. I have been heavily influenced by so many sources but here I've chosen to highlight art and photography influences from Hopper to Cartier-Bresson and from Atget to Cindy Sherman. So many influences on life from cities to nature to music and art. I love color and all its vibrance while I venerate black and white. I embrace all the many influences that have touched my art and my life deeply."

Congratulations Karen and please enjoy her show everyone!

Elevate Your Artist Bio & Statement With

HMVC’s Gold Standard

We are very happy to announce that we have implemented a new service called "Artist's Writing Aid."

We are well aware of how artists struggle with writing Artist Bios and Statements because we review them every month. Many artists do not realize that their Artist Bio and Statement are a gateway to the art world and unfortunately many end up missing out on good opportunities because of poor writing.

So why not let us help you tell your story in a way that resonates, captivates, and elevates your artistic identity.

With our "Artist's Writing Aid", we provide you with a white glove mentor service by:

★ Uncover Your Unique Voice: We’ll conduct interviews and research to understand your artistic journey, inspirations, and aspirations.

★ Craft a Compelling Narrative: We will transform your experiences and thoughts into engaging narratives that captivate your audience.

★ Tailor for Your Audience: We consider your target audience—whether it’s galleries, collectors, or the general public—ensuring your artist bio and statement resonate with them.

★ Edit and Refine: We provide multiple rounds of revisions to ensure your bio and statement are perfect in every way.

Together, we’ll take your artistry to new heights!

HMVC Gallery New York is now offering you the opportunity to have your own solo show on our ArtPlacer virtual platform for a month. Because the artists in our community are at various stages in their careers, we have created three different plans for you to choose from Plan Manor, Plan Palace, and Plan Castle.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in doing a Solo Show with us.

Visit our ongoing Virtual Solo Shows.

This service is by request only so if you would like to know more you can contact us via the contact form or email us at [email protected]

Kind Regards,

HMVC Gallery New York
