"Harmony & Diversity" September group show & Ori Gjyli solo show & Serge Gauya VR solo show!

Dear artists and friends of the gallery!

We are delighted to bring you

Our September Online Group Art Show "Harmony & Diversity

"

In September we explore the theme of harmony and diversity. This group show serves as a reminder that unity does not require homogeneity; instead, true harmony emerges from the acknowledgment and celebration of diversity. By bringing together various artistic styles, subject matters and expressions, this group show not only celebrates the richness of individual creativity, but also highlights the collective strength that emerges when different voices harmonize. In "Harmony & Diversity" the selected 68 artists illustrate the power of unity in embracing differences.

Solo Show by Ori Gjyli!

We are happy to announce that Ori Gjyli, our Solo Show winner from "Freestyle 2.0" premiers her show today and the show runs from September 1 to 30, 2024.

You can view the show on our Website.

Freedom is a universal need that resonates deeply with all of us. It encompasses the freedom of speech, the liberty to embrace our true selves, and the empowerment to create from our innermost being. Ori Gjyli's, abstract art is born from this longing for liberty. In 2020, amidst a period of isolation, Ori found solace and liberation in the creation of her abstract pieces. With an MFA in Graphics Arts, she made the transition from traditional, precision-based art to a more soul-stirring form of expression.

Driven by a longing to experience the freedom and the euphoria that nature evokes, surrounded by a myriad of colors, her expressive canvases, composed of layers of acrylic paint, portray a personal journey of imagination, embodying creativity and passion. Each stroke and hue encapsulates her boundless creativity and unwavering passion, offering a glimpse into her inner world. Currently living in Austin, Texas, and having lived, studied, and traveled in four different countries, Ori Gjyli believes that these cultural experiences have enriched her perspective, fostering a deep appreciation for authenticity and the innate beauty that pervades the world around us.

"I have always drawn inspiration from the dynamic visual forces of nature and my surroundings. My artwork reflects the beauty and romance of the world around me, capturing my inner emotions, memories, and history. Whether it is a poem, a song, a heartwarming story, or a breathtaking view, I infuse each with vibrant colors and brushstrokes drawn from my memories and imagination. I strive to convey the physical and emotional beauty of the world through my art. My goal is to create evocative abstract paintings that explore the potential of color and form to evoke sensations of energy, emotion, and authenticity."

VR Solo Show by Serge Gauya !

Serge Gauya, our VR Castle Artist, opens his Virtual Solo Show today ✨ You can visit Serge’s showroom here: VR Solo Show

Serge Gauya was born in Sion in Switzerland in 1977. From an early age, Serge was attracted to music and painting. Throughout his childhood and adolescence he was immersed in art through his parents: his father does a lot of painting and music and his mother is an antiquarian. He studied music theory and piano at a conservatory, as well as drawing and painting courses at a school in his hometown. His musical career began in 1992 at the age of 15 when he released his first single "Much Money" in Paris. In 1995, under the pseudonym MegaWatt, Serge embarked on a tour of France alongside the group Imagination. In 1996, Serge created his own music publishing, production and events company, alongside his studies of natural medicine in Geneva then in Paris. At the end of the 90s Serge worked on several releases, including "Don't Play", a duet with Cameroonian artist Racine Sagath. In 2006, his Spanish album "Me Siento Latino", distributed in the United States by Warner, enjoyed good success in Latin America, specifically in Ecuador, as well as with Hispanics living in the United States. In 2008 he wrote the anthem for the Swiss football club FC Sion. In 2009 his song "Valesanos" became the song of the Valaisan and Swiss Centre in Bariloche, Argentina. In 2013 Serge created an internet radio station specializing in Latin music called "Vibración Latina", which since April 2016 has been broadcast in several regions of Switzerland in DAB+. In 2014 released the song "La Única de mi Vida" in collaboration with Fulanito, the star of "urban merengue".

Throughout his musical career Serge has always felt the need to paint and draw, but this passion really took hold in 2012 when he met the Egyptian-Swiss art dealer Mahmoud Abou El Ainin, who discovered his work and pushed him to also focus on painting. Since then, Serge has lead these two complementary careers in parallel, and brings them together during various exhibitions.

Serge's work is exhibited in several galleries and museums around the world and some of his paintings have been exhibited in several contemporary art exhibitions in the cities of Miami, Tokyo, Paris (Louvre Museum Complex), Naples, Helsinki, Berlin Rome, Stockholm, Munich, Pisa, Vienna (MAMAG Museum), Cannes, San Diego, Montreux, Leukerbad, Oxford and New York (United Nations Headquarters Exhibition), Barcelona (MEAM - European Museum of Modern Art)

Serge has also repeatedly represented Swiss contemporary art in exhibitions organised in collaboration with the Swiss government: in 2012 in Kuwait, in 2014 in Asunción in Paraguay during the week of la Francophonie in collaboration with the French alliance, and in 2016 in Cairo, Egypt.

In 2016 at the Biennale of Contemporary Art in Cannes, France, held during the film festival, Serge received an award for his expressive ideas and a few weeks later he was awareded the Colosseo Prize in Rome. In 2017 Serge received the Galileo Galilei Prize in Pisa, Italy.

Elevate Your Artist Bio & Statement With

HMVC’s Gold Standard

We are very happy to announce that we have implemented a new service called "Artist's Writing Aid."

We are well aware of how artists struggle with writing Artist Bios and Statements because we review them every month. Many artists do not realize that their Artist Bio and Statement are a gateway to the art world and unfortunately many end up missing out on good opportunities because of poor writing.

So why not let us help you tell your story in a way that resonates, captivates, and elevates your artistic identity.

With our "Artist's Writing Aid", we provide you with a white glove mentor service by:

★ Uncover Your Unique Voice: We’ll conduct interviews and research to understand your artistic journey, inspirations, and aspirations.

★ Craft a Compelling Narrative: We will transform your experiences and thoughts into engaging narratives that captivate your audience.

★ Tailor for Your Audience: We consider your target audience—whether it’s galleries, collectors, or the general public—ensuring your artist bio and statement resonate with them.

★ Edit and Refine: We provide multiple rounds of revisions to ensure your bio and statement are perfect in every way.

Together, we’ll take your artistry to new heights!

HMVC Gallery New York is now offering you the opportunity to have your own solo show on our ArtPlacer virtual platform for a month. Because the artists in our community are at various stages in their careers, we have created three different plans for you to choose from Plan Manor, Plan Palace, and Plan Castle.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in doing a Solo Show with us.

Visit our ongoing Virtual Solo Shows.

This service is by request only so if you would like to know more you can contact us via the contact form or email us at [email protected]
